Dear CCSSA Member
The WFICC Council has approved funding for a project that aims to develop critical care research knowledge and skills as well as enhance research productivity among clinicians in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) The long-term goal is to reduce the productivity gap as compared to higher income countries. The “Critical Care Research Academy” will specifically focus on recruiting participants from the continent of Africa.
The Critical Care Research Academy is an 18-months multi-disciplinary capacity-building program supported by the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care (WFICC). It aims to increase the research knowledge and skills of critical care practitioners in various countries within the continent of Africa. The program will involve monthly webinars, practice workshops, group discussions, and 1:1 meetings, which will be conducted virtually. The participants will learn how to develop and conduct their own research project, as well as complete a research abstract and manuscript. Each participant will be matched with a mentor to gain guidance throughout the research journey.
If you practice critical care in an institution in Africa and are interested in learning how to conduct and publish a research project, please complete the application requirements and send them to WFICCResearchAcademy@gmail.com.
